Welcome to my summer forecast! I know everyone is excited to find out how their time away from Hogwarts and their breaks from school work are going to go, and as usual, I have all the answers! So let's dig in, shall we?
If you'll think back to my October 2019 column, the planet Mercury was in Retrograde for most of November. Retrograde simply means Mercury was really close to the sun and was speeding past the earth even faster than normal. After weird sports and traveling around the world trying different cuisines, I decided to make a column that touches upon one of my passions and hobbies: media. I love watching movies and TV shows, reading books and comics, as well as playing video games. After 25 years of consuming media, I realized that there are certain themes or motifs that repeat themselves, which I later found out are called tropes. Harry Potter Read-Along Update February Fortescue
Welcome to June! As both the Spring term and the school year draw to a close, we concluded our discussion of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Our Read-Along did very well this year, at one point having 13 participants, which isn't bad at all! We read one chapter each week, completed two weekly tasks, and answered trivia questions daily. The rewards, other than the enjoyment of reading the Harry Potter novels again and sharing that love with others? We earned Scales! Scales are the Slytherin points system.
