We've opened a new school year with the start of Book 4: Goblet of Fire! Slytherin's Read-Along is open to all houses and helps us reminisce about the books that brought us together at a leisurely pace - one chapter a week. Each week starts a new chapter, new tasks, and more daily trivia!

When the first flavoproteins were isolated from cow's milk, it was found that they had a bright yellow pigment. The flavin group is a ring structure that gives the oxidized molecule a yellow color. It was given the name flavin from the Latin flavus, meaning blonde or yellow. If a sugar moiety (ribose) is in the flavin structure, it is called riboflavin, otherwise known as vitamin B2.[READ MORE]
