Springing into Fashion
As winter ends, it’s time to put away those coats and scarves in favor of something lighter. This month, I bring you the latest spring trends sure to wow your crush in the corridors or your friends in the common room. It’s important to remember to pick the ones that work for you. The best accessory you have is confidence!
You might think “Floral in spring? How original,” but hang with me! This season is all about not just any flowers, but daisies. Big, bold (often primary colored) daisies. Pair a bold daisy design with some solid colors (uniform anyone?) for a signature outfit that will have you standing out.
Whimsical, Jeweled Earrings
This next trend might just be my favorite. Earrings are an easy way to dress up your uniform and add a bit of flavor and individualization to it. This spring, try earrings that combine whimsical shapes with jewels. They are perfect for a day of classes, a weekend in Hogsmeade, or a night at a ball.
While this look might be best for a weekend or holiday, plaid robes can be a huge hit this spring. Pair it with some solid colors and those bold earrings, and you have yourself a very stylish outfit perfect for a day out or snuggled up by the fire.
Spring is the time to show off those toes! Strappy heels are hot this season. Dress them up for a night out with your dream guy, or dress them down to look chic at your next study session. Either way, you’ll be fashionable and on trend with these shoes. Pair them with plaid or a bright daisy print and earrings for an even bolder statement.
Sparkle and Shine
Ok, I take it back. This trend is totally my favorite. This spring is all about glitter and sequins! Who doesn’t want to stand out in a room? You can go all out with a dress full of them, less bold with a sequined top, or subtle with a clutch. Sparkling can be intimidating, so find the right about of shine for you and rock it.
Any girl knows that the handbag completes the outfit. Try a bag with a fun print on it this spring. Polka dots, plaid, or even a bold daisy print can liven up your outfit (or your uniform!).
Here at the SerpenTimes we hope you have a magical spring. Keep these fashion tips in mind when choosing what to wear for a truly unique look that is all you!
Falling into Fashion
The weather is cooling outside. It’s time for bonfires, camp outs, and Quidditch! The greatest dilemma anyone can have as the seasons change is that age old question, “What do I wear?” We have some fabulous fashion tips for you that will help get you through the fall season in style!
That’s right! Bling! The latest trend on the runway is all about sparkle. Add some sparkle to your hair with a barrette or to your clothing with a brooch. Oversized, bold earrings are another great way to make a statement and add some bling to your style.
What’s the best accessory to compliment your school robes? Shoes, of course! These latest loafers are not your granny’s shoes. They come in bold colors and styles, have a slight heel, and look dazzling. You’ll be sure to turn heads in the halls wearing them!
This trend is sure to spice up your uniform. The slits in the pleated skirt give dimension and detail to your ensemble. Why not combine it with some bling and lady loafers for a truly stylish uniform update?
That may sound like your typical fall and winter accessory, but you’d be wrong. The gloves that are currently in style will go with your outfit! Wear arm-length or elbow-length gloves with sleeveless dress gowns or shorter gloves with sleeves.
Last, but certainly not least, you'll want to know what colors are hot this season. Grey! All shades of grey. Leave the black in the closet and opt for the softer shade. Monochromatic is a classy option for this color as well. Pair it with some bling and some gloves and you have an outfit that speaks of success. What Slytherin wouldn’t want that?
Of course, if you don’t like any of the current trends you can just hold out for the next season. Wear what you want and remember to be comfortable! Choosing one or two of these trends will send a clear message to those around you, leaving them wanting to be as awesome (and stylish!) as you.
