This winter, the white powder blanketing the grounds served as a blank slate for our annual Slythmas celebration. To coincide with Goblet of Fire Read-Along, the Yule Ball was held in the Dungeons! The Yule Ball Organising Committee reached out to members of all houses for assistance. The themes that HOL’ers suggested were quite creative and definitely nothing to snore at - Seasons, Astronomy, Dark Glitterati, and more!
The Yule Ball festivities featured a Silver Snake Exchange. Everyone who wished to participate provided a gift that was kept hush hush. It could be anything from a pile of beans to a patchwork quilt. The actual exchange occurred on IRC, right before the Slytherin Quidditch Team took the pitch for the first time this school year. Silver Snake gifts could be stolen, so it was important not to be dozing during the exchange. It was a lot of fun and we expect Silver Snake to return for Slythmas in the future! Once again, the first half of Slytherin’s Quidditch season came bearing scheduling complications. A pair of returning SQT players even stepped out of their comfort zones to fill the Seeker role. Nevertheless, SQT worked together, overcoming obstacles, and lodged themselves firmly at the top of the standings! Hey! I saw you try to stifle a yawn... Don’t worry, there are some more interesting things for you to read! This issue of SerpenTimes contains:
